Ohneganos: The Story of Water on Native Lands

Dawn Martin-Hill is a mother, a professor, and an environmental leader documenting the state of water on her Six Nations Grand River reservation in Ontario, Canada. She leads an indigenous water research project called Ohneganos, using storytelling, water quality sensors, and even VR gaming to capture the state of water quality on her tribe's Haudenosaunee lands.

Dr. Hill has been collaborating with Digital Democracy to create a TerraStories map in which the data is wholly owned and controlled by her community, not the platform. She gives us a tour of the videos, games, sensors and mapping of Ohneganos and asks us: what can the Decentralized Web do for environmental justice for indigenous peoples?
